Busan - Osaka day 5: August 25
"First experience in my life"

At 6:30 am, "Akogare" was sailing 30 n.m. SE of Cape Muroto of Shikoku Island. The 11 trainees worked on furling Topsail and changed the tack of the remaining Flying jib, Inner jib, Mainsail and Foresail. From this point the ship will motor-sail toward Kii Suido Channel.

The weather was fine with moderate wind all day today. Accordingly, all trainees were fine and those who could not go aloft tried to climb the masts and did gaskets up there yelling and screaming.

The orders for furling the sails in the afternoon was by the trainees. "Kiwi" (Kim Hyeon Seong) tried Mainsail, "Akogare" (Chung Hey Jeong) did Foresail and "Momo" (Park Sung Min) did yard bracing. The Korean trainees are very positive. When two sails are furled for example, it requires 8 people and this time it means almost all trainees. They paired with the crew-members and volunteer staff, and did beautiful work.

At 3:30 pm, the ship came to the anchorage off Wakayama Prefecture and the trainees enjoyed long-awaited "swimming in the Pacific." They jumped into the ocean from a rope named "Tarzan rope" attached to the lower yard. It was only within 30 minutes, but it blew off humidity.

The Akogare fishing club led by Tsucchan (Takaji Tsutsumimoto First Engineer) has got two sea breams in the evening.

Today's quote
"Today was the 5th day on board. We anchored off Wakayama and did fishing and swimming. Everything was first experience in my life and I enjoyed it very much." (Momo)
