News Flash! December 8, 2000
Akogare will come home on Wednesday, December
20 completing 9-month passage.
Having left Osaka on April 9, Akogare will
complete some 9-month circumnavigation of
the globe and come home on December 20.
A welcome ceremony will take place on the
wharf at Osaka's waterfront recreational
complex ATC buidling from 1600 hours for
15 minutes. Media coverage is most welcome.
1520 hours Akogare will be welcome
by the spray of a fire boat off the wharf
1525 hours Performance of the music
band of Osaka Fire Department
1545 hours Akogare on berth
1600 hours Welcome adddress by Dr.
Takafumi Isomura, Mayor of Osaka, followed
by Japanese drum performance of a local kindergarten
children and a brief report from Capt. Hitoshi
Kita, Master
A video that covers the highlights of the
voyage will be shown at the wharf
prior to the ceremony.
